I know in this case, as I'm sure it would in others, the victims have those psychological wounds re-opened, but what does these new DNA procedures do to the statutes of limitations? I know there are no statutes of limitations on murders, but on assaults and rapes there are and they differ from state to state.

Does that mean that law enforcement can go to CODIS and plug in someone's DNA profile and find rapist who haven't offended in 20-30 yrs but still have open cases and convict these guys?
