Washington is divided the the treatment of detainee. Some in Washington are strongly supporting Article 3 of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war. But I think Article 4 should be looked at too. It specifys that a prisoner of war "must have a distinctive sign that is clear from a distance, that they carry arms openly, that they conduct their operations in accordance to the rules of war."
