OIL

whtfucover said...

let's go back to Economics 101.

If you understood economics 101, we wouldn't be having this discussion

This discussion got started because the oil companies were charging outrageous gas prices because they claimed that the two hurricanes that hit the gulf cost them a lot of money, while at the same time they post record profits for the 3rd quarter of the fiscal year. Now, if they were hurting so much from lost production, how could they post record profits?? You can't lose and win at the same time. In the meantime, the average Joe on the street will be paying for those higher oil prices for the next 4-5 months. Groceries are now going to cost more, along with higher heating cost. Now for someone making good money, that isn't a big deal, they can afford it, but what if you had to chose between staying warm and eating? That was how this got started. An industry that has a strangle hold on the country and knows it. And as long as they can hold off any research into alternative fuel sources, they will continue to have a strangle hold.
