CONSERVATIVE COURT

"it will be a strong conservative court, meaning less emphasis on individual rights."

Who are you and what have you done to Kenny!

Souter and Kennedy have turned out to be a disappointment, but the liberals on the court were unanimous in the imminent domain case. Just because they champion abortion doesn't mean they are for individual rights.

I'm still here but you have to remember, I'm a history buff. Now, as much as I didn't like the outcome of the Warren Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy, Chief Justice Earl Warren was a liberal.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

Now, before he took office, the first ten Amendments of the constitution, what we know as the bill of rights, only applied in Federal Court. In Circuit courts, there were no rights against search and seizure, rights to an attorney, none of those rights that we now cherish so much. They didn't apply in circuit court until The Warren Court. And, what has happened to those rights since the Conservatives have held the bench? The rights against illegal searches have been loosened. Those "Miranda Rights" they read you when you're arrested, they no longer require that the person understands them, only that they were read. Rights to Free Speech, you've seen where that is going. The Pledge of Alligence is no longer recited in schools. They want to take "In God We Trust" off our money. We have cameras spying on our every move. The right to bare arms no longer applies. All this chipping away of our rights has taken place since the Conservatives held the bench.
