SUPREME COURT
Who else better to take over a position than someone who has had an up close and personal view of the position. You wouldn't hire a bus driver that hadn't ever driven a bus before, or a truck driver that's never been behind the wheel of a 18 wheeler. Why put someone in charge of the most powerful court in the country, unless they've seen it from the inside?

I disagree, you have seasoned veteran justices in place to pick from. To me it's like putting a promoting a captain to Brigadier General to supervise Full Bird Colonels....
Those Colonels will be resentful of being passed over for someone who was a lowly Captain a few days ago....
