When my wife was Chief of Police, they auctioned off the cars and used the funds for the dept. Drug houses were autioned off but the mortgager got paid, what was left went to the county. Drugs were disposed of by incinteration and drug money (after trail) went to the state treasury. Guns usually went on the aution block unless they were evidencial murder weapons, then they were destroyed.

See, that's what I mean, let their seized items pay for more equipment for the police. What could be more insulting to the crooks than to have their ill gotten assets paying for more equipment for the police. Porch, I think your wife squad had the right idea.
