JOB OFFER

It appears that the #2 man at the Interior Dept. was offered a job to work for lobbyist Jack Abramoff while he was still employed by the Federal gov't which is a crime.

Deputy Secretary J. Steven Griles has stated that the job offer came after he left the Interior Dept, but through the investigation, emails between Giles and Abramoff show that Abramoff was aggressively pursuing Griles to come join his firm. Although Griles claims there was no special relationship between the two, Abramoff did tell his colleagues Mr. Griles was "ready to leave Interior and will most likely be coming to join us" and that "I expect he will be with us in 90-120 days."

The importance of this is, Abramoff is a lobbyist for Indian casinos and the Interior Dept. Which includes the Bureau of Indian Affairs, oversees the operations of casinos on tribal lands.

Abramoff himself is under investigation for defrauded tribes out of tens of millions of dollars and that investigation brought attention to Ralph Reed, who once lead the Christian Coalition and is now a candidate for Lt. Governor of Georgia. Records show that Reed paid Abramoff's firm millions of dollars to block any casinos that might compete with those owned by clients of Abramoff.

Here Abramoff is supposed to be a lobbyist for the tribal casinos, but then he defrauds them and gets others involved... As the saying goes, with friends like that, who needs enemies?
