Well, I hate to give conspiracy theorist any credence, but, Sgt. Fluffy gave me a book one time about all the gadget weapons that were developed and used during the Vietnam war. Couple that with the movie, JFK and Donald Sutherland's meeting with Kevin Costner in Washington D.C. That the Korean and Vietnam wars were fought, not because we had strategic reasons for those wars, but to show the Soviet Union, who backed both North Korea and North Vietnam, what weapons we had without going directly to war with the Soviet Union. They tested their new weapons on our troops and we tested our weapons on the troops they were backing. So far, Russian has decided not to participate in any way in the Iraq war.
