No one wants to do away with income tax because its become many politicians private piggy bank. Not only that but as I said in an earlier post, that would mean that the rich would be lowered to pay the same as everyone else. And they would lose all those tax shelters they worked so hard to achieve. They want to help Social Security and other funds, cut social security for those who make more than $100,000 in retirement. If they are making 6 figures in retirement, there is no need for them to draw social security.
