BIRD FLU-CONTINUED

Sgt Fluffy said...

News is news. Nothing like panicking the population. Anthrax anyone? Get your duct tape now!

Sgt Fluffy is right. The news media, as usual, broadcasts 'panic first, facts later'.

You're both right, that's the problem with the news, especially since there are so many news outlets now and everyone is trying to scoop the other. They put out their blurb first, then later fill in with the facts. Just like over the weekend, during one news cast their so called "tease" was that the bird flu had reached Europe, were we next? When they came back from commericals to finish the story, they announced a few birds in Europe had shown signs of bird flu. Not the major outbreak they made it sound like. And just think, they black listed Orson Wells for reading "War of the Worlds" over the radio because he caused such a panick.
