MIDTERM ELECTIONS

This could be an omen for the Republicans for the 2008 elections.

First, State elections a lot of times do not reflect on national elections. Granted the Republican candidates lost, but they both apparently ran really stupid campaigns. In Virginia, the Republican candidate basically compared the democrat to a Nazi...bad move because it turned off Conservative voters. In New Jersey, the Republican there drug out Corzines wife to denigrate him. Once again, the voters didn't like it. Same thing happens here in Alabama. We were sick of Fob and we gave him the boot. I will not vote for Riley in 06 because he decided to raise taxes after saying he wouldn't. If the candidate sucks, the voters will likely not show up at the polls. Another thing to add, Bush is not running for re election, but apparently the mainstream media hasn't got that memo yet.

True, Bush can't run in '08, but all of the political analyst say that this is a bad showing for the Republicans. This is it like when Bush 41 ran for re-election. After all that had happened during Reagan's last term, and then Bush took over, the economy went into the toilet. Yeah we went into Iraq and kicked butt and actually brought back pride in our military, but only to watch as Hussein take out his revenge on his own people by gasing the Kurds. The '80s started out as a great decade as the economy blossomed but fell.

And the people responded by voting out a majority of the Republicans in the next election. Now with high energy cost and a not so stable economy, the same is about to occur, there will be a changing of the guard in Washington.
