While Kerry and Bush were giving speeches just 5 blocks apart, bank robbers were taking advantage of the police providing security for those speeches to rob three banks in Davenport, IA. There is no information of the amounts taken but I'm sure it cost Davenport a whole lot more than just the overtime hours for the police providing security for the two candidates.
