JAPANESE NUCLEAR PLANT.

JAPAN

I know this happened in Japan, but in light of the NRC eariler this month stating that they don't want to publish the findings of any of their inspections, how many of our plants are just as unsafe.

SILKWOOD

I dont' know if any of you ever saw the movie Silkwood, but its based on Karen Silkwood's life while working at the Kerr-McGee plutonium fuels production plant in OK. Now, I know the director took creative license with the movie, but he alleged that Karen had found reasons for not on her exposure but exposure of other workers at the plant and was going to turn of this information over to the AEC when her car was ran off the road. The director makes these assertions because the amount of radiation in Silkwoods body at the time of death and the manner in which the radiation entered her body. It is alleged that she had to comsume it because no one knowingly consumes radiation. So, its alleged she was poisoned to keep the information about the plant from coming to light. If our nuclear facilities are so bad tha the people in charge would kill to keep it secret, how safe are we?
