SOUTHERN HUMOR

GRIZZARD

I know by now everyone has heard of Jeff Foxworthy or Larry the Cable Guy but there was a southern humorist before them, Louis Grizzard. He used to write a humorous column in the Atlanta Journal, much like Dave Berry, but with a southern flavor. He even made an appearance on the tv show Designing Women, which was about a group of Soutern interior decorators.

One remark he made on the show was about how popular sushi has become. "In the south, we've had sushi a long time, except we call it bait."

Us Southerners are proud to be from the south. Most of us are down to earth and tell it like it is, sometimes with a touch of humor.
