JOBLESS RATE

Dennis said...

Both the number of unemployed persons, 7.2 million, and the unemployment
rate, 4.8 percent, were little changed in February. A year earlier, the num-
ber of unemployed was 8.0 million, and the jobless rate was 5.4 percent
.

yeah but you have to remember that GM and Ford laid off a huge workforce to make their companies more competitive.

But what was the underlying reason the employees were laid off? It wasn't the economy, It wasn't that they build sub par vehicles, they infact are building better cars than the 70's, 80's and 90's combined. It is the obligations they have to labor.

The workers were unwilling to negotiate over the years and it was inevitable. SO you really cant blame this economy.
